Fast and Furious Haynes action day 2011
This was a much anticipated show for me being right on my door step literally (5mins down the rd from Castle Cary).
Haynes Motor Museum is nationally known for its Archive of classic and collector cars with a great location and a mini go kart test track.
Once again Hugo, the man you should all have in your address book these days invited me to this event via a FB Pm. So I sorted my exhibitors pass straight away.
Saturday evening I took 2 hours off the usual Chinese takeaway job to clean my ride, to make it Shiney and clean for the show, as I am one of a few Reppin awesome Honda’s in my local town , I felt obliged.
Getting up early Sunday morning was a slow one, as I was used to the 5:30am wake for 8:30am Park on stand, but I was being lazy haha as it was only 5 min down the Road
I finally rolled in Haynes at 9:20am found my nice parking spot, where Mathew Maynard had his super clean civic EK was parkedup. It was so Shiny in the rising sun I needed a pair of sunny’s hehe.
Benny Rees, John Boakes and the rest of the Bournemouth lot arrived soon after, good times, nice to see them reppin in Somerset, top guys with a lot of Vtec love.
Hugo was very punctual as with the rest of slammed car club, Adam Giles’s awesome RX caught my eye at the entrance sitting flush on rotas; bang tidy (FB like)
The sun was slowly rising to mid day, things were definitely heating up with the sounds of burning rubber from the drift infinity team and families rolling in to see local modified cars with exclusive access to the museum all in aid of charity, what a great event this was to be a part of.
I took the chance to see the car collection in the museum too (separate blog coming soon for that) great museum with an awesome and rare collection of vintage to modern cars.
Benny loves his Board he takes it everywhere he goes, so with the sun being out that was enough for his board to come out to play . I think in this picture he had just toped up John’s Teg with Halfords premium engine oil FTW haha
Lunch consisted of a quick coke and Lovington’s ice cream, with a really long rest in the shade at the onsite cafe 😉
Afternoon fun was epic LOLS where Benny, Phil decide to try the mobility scooter driving course for OAP’s
Brad hacker came for a nice afternoon drift session with his Skyline along with Drift Inifinity offering drift and rally car rides through out the day.
There were lots of very tidy rides on show. Below is just a selection
A highlight of the show entailed of a nice surprise with Mathew Maynard and I claiming top 2 prizes in the Show and Shine comp, getting us Auto Glym goodies and cars rides
1st Prize winner
Most people were waiting to let loose on the mini track, which turned out to be a short car time attack assault course instead, turn off for most but didn’t stop a few of us having sum great laughs with Rob Gent Claiming top prize with him and three friends to go go-karting 😉 all paid for. Benny Reese got the fastest unofficial time of sub 2 mins.
The evening was still young so we headed to cheddar for some for great laughs with my mates.
(Cheddar Write coming soon)
Very nicely organised local event:
